Acknowledging Your Mistakes

This week’s video didn’t go exactly to plan. While researching, I had the demonstration working and everything seemed fine. Things weren’t as smooth once the camera turned on.

I could have edited out the part that didn’t work, or postpone the release of the video. I didn’t for a couple reasons. The most important of these reasons is that I fully acknowledge that I’m not an expert at this stuff (something I seem to saw over and over).

In order to learn, you need to make these mistakes. What’s the point in releasing a video about learning if you don’t include the journey?

It’s easy to feel ashamed that this didn’t work, and that “nobody wants or needs to see this.” The truth is the exact opposite. My challenge now is to figure out why it didn’t work so that I can show progress next week.
